Sandra Sandqvist
Sandra “Sandy” Sandqvist hails from northern Sweden, where she began racing dinghies under the midnight sun at a young age. Sailing has been the defining thread throughout her life, taking her to the highest levels of the sport. She has become a world champion, competed in Olympic classes, worked with America’s Cup teams, and raced professionally offshore and on big boats.
She is currently studying at Sjösportsskolan, working toward formal certifications while enjoying the company of fellow entrepreneurs who share her passion for life in the archipelago. Over the coming weeks, she will be sharing her stories here at Gybe Set.
When she’s not studying, Sandy can often be found sailing her Moth dinghy off Sweden’s west coast, racing on the European sprint circuit, or taking on ambitious adventures, such as sailing an F18 the full 800 nautical miles along Sweden’s east coast.
