Race Lidingö Runt Onboard Diva 399 Est! Est!! Est!!!

Join a 1,5 day course including one of Sweden’s oldest regattas – Lidingö Runt, a given seasonal kick-off race for many sailors since 1949.
Friday evening: 17.30-21.00
We start with a practice evening before the race on Friday evening, setting up everything for racing day, dividing roles onboard and practice the most important manoeuvres.
Saturday: whole day
Race day! We meet at the dock on the morning and will transport the boat together to the starting line by the Lidingö Bridge. Then it’s a full day of racing around the iconic island!
The course includes the boat with all equipment, navigation and weather equipment, course literature from RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, and race entry fees.
Bring your own life jacket, weather-appropriate clothing for the sailing sessions, lunch, snacks and a personal water bottle. If you have your own starting watch or training watch with a timer, it’s good to bring it, but. not necessary.
The course requires that you have basic sailing experience and understanding, as well as basic navigation skills. Of course, you’re welcome to sign up for other sessions to get more practice and repetition ahead of the race.
This course will be held in English or Swedish depending on participants.
As a member of the non-profit association She Captain, you receive a discounted price on this course. You’ll find the discount code in Cardskipper among your membership benefits.
About your coach Madeleine:
I’ve been sailing my whole life — and have raced actively for the past 15 years, in everything from dinghies to the world’s largest three-masted barque.
I’ve worked as an instructor for both adults and youth on keelboats (Diva 399, Maxi 999, 909, 84), coached J/70, J/80, and J/92 teams, led corporate sailing events, worked in yacht deliveries and charter in the Mediterranean, crossed both the Atlantic and the Pacific, and have 7 Gotland Runt races under my belt (best result: 2nd place in ORC A).
I’ve earned a bronze medal in the Baltic Sea Race (double-handed), podium finishes in both offshore and inshore regattas on X-41 and J/111, competed in match racing on the World Match Racing Tour and the Women’s WMRT, and I’m also a Magenta Project alum (Media & Management Pathway).
Licenses: Class 8 Ship Officer, Yachtmaster Offshore, STCW Basic Safety, Norwegian D5L.
About the yacht
Diva 399 Est! Est!! Est!!! is a 40 ft performance cruiser from 1992, featuring slim Scandinavian lines and strong racing DNA. The yacht is equipped with wheel steering, backstays, a full sail wardrobe, and every control line you could possibly dream of. In our opinion – the perfect platform for developing keelboat racing skills.
