SUMMARY:Expedition Post Race Analysis Webinar with Ella Boxall
DESCRIPTION:This session will use professional analysis tools to break down an offshore race\, using the JOG Weymouth Race as a practical case study. You’ll learn how to reconstruct the weather\, review routing decisions\, and analyse performance data to identify key tactical moments and opportunities for improvement. \nThe 50 NM JOG Weymouth Race runs from Cowes to Weymouth on April 18th\, featuring two full days of racing. The course takes the fleet past the Needles\, around the Shingles\, and back to Weymouth. \nWe will analyse Expedition log files from a Sun Fast 3300 (mid-fleet) and a Sun Fast 3600 (top of the fleet) to explore the post-race analysis capabilities within Expedition\, as well as what can be achieved using proprietary software. You’ll gain insights into decision-making\, tactical choices\, polar updates\, and instrument calibration — and how all of this can sharpen future performance. \nAbout the expert:\nElla Boxall is a navigator\, meteorologist\, and performance data analyst working in high-performance sailing. She supports both offshore and inshore teams with race strategy\, weather analysis\, and performance optimisation. Ella currently works in SailGP and with professional offshore programmes. Most recently\, she worked with the Ultim Sodebo team\, contributing to their successful Trophy Jules Verne campaign. \n \nThis webinar is co-hosted in partnership with the UK Double Handed Offshore Series. It presents a unique opportunity to gain access to otherwise members-only knowledge from a high-profile league racing on the Solent and around the UK. The webinar is free for members of the series. The session is interactive\, with opportunities to ask questions directly to Ella and representatives from the series. \n\nThe webinar link will be provided upon securing your seat.
