SUMMARY:Race Ornö Runt Onboard Diva 399 Est! Est!! Est!!!
DESCRIPTION:Join a two-day race clinic at Stockholm’s largest archipelago regatta – Ornö Runt.\nOrganised by Tyresö Båtklubb since 1973\, the regatta has been a staple of the Stockholm racing calendar\, traditionally held on Pingstafton (Whit Saturday) or a nearby weekend. At its peak\, more than 400 boats have lined up on the starting line. The race is a true archipelago regatta around Ornö\, with only a few rounding marks\, allowing teams to choose their own “right route” to the finish. \nFriday afternoon & evening: 15:00–21:00\nWe start with a practice session on our way out to Dalarö\, ahead of the race\, setting everything up for race day. We divide roles onboard and practise the most important manoeuvres. The boat will then be docked in Dalarö for the night. \nSaturday: full day\nRace day! We meet at the dock in Dalarö in the morning and transport the boat together to the starting area at Kolnäsviken. From there\, it’s a full day of racing around the iconic island of Ornö. \nAfter the race\, we will drop you in Dalarö. \n  \nThe course includes\nThe yacht with all equipment\, navigation and weather instruments\, course literature from RYA Yachtmaster Offshore\, dock fees\, fuel\, and race entry fees. \nWhat to bring\nBring your own life jacket\, weather-appropriate sailing clothing\, lunch\, snacks\, and a personal water bottle. If you have your own starting watch or training watch with a timer\, feel free to bring it\, but it is not required. \nThe course requires basic sailing experience and understanding\, as well as basic navigation skills. You are\, of course\, welcome to sign up for additional sessions to gain more practice and repetition ahead of the race.\nThis course will be held in English or Swedish\, depending on the participants. \nAbout your coach – Madeleine\nI’ve been sailing my whole life and have raced actively for the past 15 years\, in everything from dinghies to the world’s largest three-masted barque. I’ve worked as an instructor for both adults and youth on keelboats (Diva 399\, Maxi 999\, 909\, 84)\, coached J/70\, J/80\, and J/92 teams\, led corporate sailing events\, worked in yacht deliveries and charter in the Mediterranean\, crossed both the Atlantic and the Pacific\, and have seven Gotland Runt races under my belt (best result: 2nd place in ORC A). \nI’ve earned a bronze medal in the Baltic Sea Race (double-handed)\, a gold medal in the Tall Ship’s Races\, podium finishes in both offshore and inshore regattas on X-41 and J/111\, competed in match racing on the World Match Racing Tour and the Women’s WMRT\, and I’m also a Magenta Project alum (Media & Management Pathway). \nLicences: Class 8 Ship Officer\, Yachtmaster Offshore\, STCW Basic Safety\, Norwegian D5L. \nAbout the yacht\nDiva 399 Est! Est!! Est!!! is a 40 ft performance cruiser from 1992\, featuring slim Scandinavian lines and strong racing DNA. The yacht is equipped with wheel steering\, backstays\, a full sail wardrobe\, and every control line you could possibly dream of. In our opinion – the perfect platform for developing keelboat racing skills.
